Q: How do you know if you're a crazed TSCC fan?

Work has picked up considerably in recent weeks, so between that and dedicating most of my free time to Sarah Connor, LJ has sadly taken a back seat. I'm going to remedy that. I know I'm way behind on what you guys are all up to, but I'm going to catch up this weekend. In the meantime, here's what I've been up to:

I recently reorganized The Sarah Connor Society forums (also made a new skin/theme for it) and set-up a TSCC series rewatch. For that, you watch the pilot on your own then hit the new rewatch board for discussion next Wednesday (it continues with an ep a week).

A lot of my nights have been spent in the savethescc.com chatroom, brainstorming TSCC campaign ideas and socializing. We've had a petition going that's already had over 2500 signers, we've been doing emails, letters and postcards to WB, Halcyon and various networks. We've got sort of a press pack in the works to send out to those same places. Our biggest venture is a mobile billboard in Los Angeles and fundraising for that is going to kick off next week. We're going to need about $4,000, so don't be surprised when I start guilting you all into pitching in a couple dollars ;)

Comic Con is coming up, so I made some stickers for people to wear on themselves and hand out. But then we all decided there was no need to limit sticker fun to just a con. There's been a lot of excitement and chatter about the stickers for weeks now but they finally arrived from the printer today so ordering has begun. They look awesome, by the way, they really do. I fronted the money for this so I'm handling the distribution. I bought 10,000 stickers, so they're incredibly cheap (I'm selling them at cost). You can buy as few as 10 or as many as 800 in one shot. So go get some! You can read more about it and/or place an order at savethescc.com.

Here's a shot of some of my recent handiwork — a couple postcards and the two stickers:

Hmmm... I could use my new DVDs to participate in the rewatch. Assuming I can find the time, of course. I can barely keep up with LiveJournal.

What a fabulous idea! The timing makes it seem like fate that you should participate. I know what you mean about time, though. I think days need to be more than 24 hours.

This may not seem relevant at first, but I finally watched the show Kyle XY, which was also cancelled this year. It actually had some similarities to Terminator (I think of it as a bizarre Smallville/Roswel/Firefly/Terminator/Batman Beyond hybrid). But the biggest thing that struck me? After I got to the last episode, I was really sad... until I found an interview where the creators explained where the show was going to go and where all the characters would end up and GOD that was so satisfying. None of this "We're going to drop John off in a bizarro future where there's no way you can possible predict which way it's going to go and then say 'Use your Imagination' bullcrap."

If there's really still a chance to save the show then, well, I guess it's better not to spoil it, but if it's really over I'd much rather know what the official version is going to be, because so far the official version has almost always been better than what I had been imagining.

I'm so with you on that. It's just lame to leave a series with an ending like that. There are plenty of things I would've done differently in season 2 if it were my show so I'm quite sure my own version of season 3 would be very different from whatever was planned. But I still desperately want to see it or, at the very least, know where it was going.

Josh telling the fans to move on doesn't lead me to believe he's holding back with hopes or plans to finish the story later either. But he's not the one who gets to make that call anyway, so we'll keep fighting for more. I think if season 2 DVD sales are big, we'll have a real shot at convincing WB to either put some effort into shopping it around or producing a DVD series.

What worries me about any return of TSCC under these conditions is that creative control would be very much skewed to being in the hands of those bankrolling the show rather than the creative team. On the bright side that could mean a lot more Summer Glau, I suppose, and nowadays maybe it's even the case in the best of circumstances.

According to an interview with Whedon, Summer Glau is probably showing up on Dollhouse, and even if she wasn't I'm sure she's not exactly lacking job opportunities. So I'm not worried about a lack of Summer Glau... but I am worried about a lack of Cameron, who is one of my favorite robot characters ever.

I'm not worried about a lack of Cameron. They really can't continue the story without her, Sarah and John.

Point being, more Summer Glau (in one show or another) is guaranteed, while more Cameron is not.

Yeah but I'm optimistic for more TSCC :)

I'm not worried about that. I don't think anyone would even sign on to do more if the suits had creative control.
