TSCC: Custom Action Figures UPDATE

I finally finished up painting the figures yesterday. Oh the hell I've been through over the last few days, dealing with details and last minute problems. As some of you know, Sarah's lower legs kept breaking and it wasn't until I discovered a design flaw in the style of leg I'd been using that I was able to prevent it from happening again. I reshaped where they connect to the thighs and all is well. So even problematic Sarah is done... yay!

I've moved on to accessories now - picking through hundreds if not thousands of weapons, etc. (my God I have a lot of accessories) to find some realistic looking pistols, M16s and various other tidbits. There was not a single shotgun to be found, though. I may try to make one for Sarah, but I have my doubts I can pull off something so small (I suspect it'll end up breaking when I try to shape).

Oh and lookie what I got for our gang! How could I not buy that? This is what happens when I have no work to do for a week.

Anyway... photos of the finished figures will be coming within a day or two.

Yay! I can't wait for the final pics. And with the Jeep!

I immediately ran through how to recreate the Season 1 finale explosion in my head with cotton balls and an airbrush... but I'll hold off. :)

LOL - I thought about recreating the explosion by taking a photo of the Jeep w/Cameron into PhotoShop and trying to blend it with an actual screen cap. We'll see.

I'm dying to show these things off. I really think they look amazing. I'm most proud of the damage I inflicted on Cromartie to match his appearance after the massacre (it was painful, but I actually drilled into him to create bullet holes with exposed chrome and bloody goodness :D

The Jeep will be here Thursday, so that's probably when I'll take all my pictures. That'll give me time to finish up accessories too - I've had to make major modifications to get things to scale (some Joe guns are just ridiculously oversized). And believe it or not, I *think* (fingers crossed) my shotgun sculpt is going to work. First attempt broke, but I've got paperclip reinforcement in the current incarnation. Looks awesome if I can finish shaping it without any breakage.

The Jeep! Are you going to paint it black? Too cool, sorry about the lack of shotgun, but I'm sure you'll think of something cool.

I think you mean dark green. And you call yourself a fan. Ha! ;) But no, I don't think I'm going to paint it right away. I'll wait and see what Jeep Sarah gets in season 2 (she better get the same kind!). I figure their season 1 Jeep was dark green and this is light green, so close enough for now. Maybe I can manipulate the color in PhotoShop so it'll look closer.

See above about the shotgun. I think it's going to work :)
