I've still got a bottle of Black Butte Porter and a bottle of hard cider in the fridge, but I don't think I'll be partaking until after I finish my seven-day, 64-hour work week.
Yeah, it's sort of a weird situation. I switched from a schedule where I start Tuesdays to one where I start Thursdays... on Friday. And it's straddling the start of the pay period, so it's not overtime.
Stella Artois might not be dark, but it's a nice Belgian beer. No piss-water in a can.
Hey, speaking of work, while I was typing this the FedEx guy showed up with those Kevlar gloves I ordered. Sweet.
It might well be that I'll need to at some point, such as if I find a discarded needle in the garage. Or that I might accidentally touch something with sharp edges. It's just a precaution. Besides, the head janitor gets issued a pair of protective gloves, and I'd hate to be one-upped. ;-)
Also, I want to be able to block a knife with my hand. It'll probably never come up on the job, but I just like knowing that I can.

Okay that would be cool if it ever happened - not being in a situation where someone was wielding a knife at you, but actually being able to block it with your hand - can you imagine the look of the perp's face? Awesome.
