Yeah, I miss season 1 John who had a bit of a sense of humor. I never thought he was too whiny then, but I certainly think he's too dark and brooding now. Riley's only saving grace is that she at least makes him smile once in a while. I don't think that'll be the case anymore, though.
According to Thomas Dekker, John's not as naive as he appears and he's "had a plan". But I'm already rolling my eyes at that since we've not seen any hint that he's onto Riley or knows about Jesse or Catherine Weaver or John Henry or knows anything about the 3 dots.
I don't really blame Derek for believing Jesse, but I do blame him for not even mentioning to Sarah that his girlfriend dropped in from the future. That's just idiotic and I have no doubt Derek's going to pay a price for keeping it to himself. I'm kind of looking forward to him learning the error of his ways. I think he'll be a changed man when that happens.
