Maybe my theories *aren't* so wacky

I was just browsing through the Allison from Palmdale thread on the Sarah Connor Society forum and I found this post by me from September 30, 2008...

"I still say it's too pervy for a 30-year-old John to be gettin' it on with a 16, maybe 17-year-old Alison even in post-apocalyptic times. UNLESS future!John gets killed and current John jumps forward in time to take his place sometime soon."

O_o

I've always had faith in you ;)

I totally LOLed when I saw the post. Even though it was just a funny comment I was making, I can't believe I'd inadvertently predicted John's jump to the future way back in early season 2! Maybe I'm TSCC-psychic :D

Some Must Watch While Some Must Have Wacky Ideas (cuz who sleeps, seriously?) :D

Poor Bo... always watching, never sleeping :P

[identity profile] cinebo.livejournal.com 2010-10-26 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
pssh, poor nuthin. If they invent a way to never have to sleep but you can still function, I'm all over it lol

Alison was not 16 or 17... she just looked young(pun intended). She said she was alive when J-Day happened. She was talking about wanting a bike for her next birthday.

It has been a while and I can't remember exactly when in the TSCC 'verse J-Day happens, but Alison would have been in her 20's.

Oh, you know, I never grabbed onto the bike thing as anything significant, but that would certainly imply her j-day was later than April 21, 2011 (the only j-day date given in TSCC). We know Jesse was from a different future than Derek and the conversation they had about j-day before gave the impression it was different for each of them. Allison could've been from Jesse's timeline or a different one all together, leaving the date of her j-day wide open.

Allison's age isn't tied to j-day, though. We can be pretty sure she was born in 2008 (Allison from Palmdale was set in late 2007, maybe early 2008 and her mother was very pregnant at the time). Since all future flashbacks took place in 2027, I think it's a logical assumption that that's the year John landed in at the end of Born to Run (there wouldn't be much to compare if the year he jumped to wasn't the same year as what we'd seen bits of before). So if that's correct, Allison would be 18 or 19 when John sees her, not in her 20s.

The main reason I posted that old comment wasn't about Allison's age or anything, though. I posted it because it blew my mind a bit to see that early in the season I'd actually brought up the possibility of teen John jumping to the future. I have fun going back and reading old posts sometimes :)

Who would have thought that after all your intricket theories and late night analizations that the one thing you predicted was on a off comment?

Ps: off the top of your head ... what do you think the lottery numbers would be?

[identity profile] roxybisquaint.livejournal.com 2010-10-26 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
haha. I know. Most of my wacky theories deal with post-BTR, though, so there's no way to know (yet) if they're right or wrong. Maybe Sarah actually does have a secret daughter ;)

Or Son ...

(way to many baby girls in this fandom.)

I'll geek out and say that if that did happen that we'll have a Tim Drake like Character/Origin (Tim Drake is Robin III in Batman.)

Where the child had been keeping up with Sarah and John from afar on the news and stuff and then one day he starts to see that Sarah is becoming darker and darker and decides to track her down and offers her an extra hand in her war (Because somehow the kid believes in J-Day just by looking into her eyes on Television.)in order to keep her from completely going off the board in season three.

...

Suddenly I got a plot bunny!

But anyway that's how I hope it would go if it had ever gone that way.

but seriously since Twilight came out there has been a epidemic of baby girls in the fandom universe and TSCC is no exception ...

Predictions

Good prediction. I certainly wouldn't have predicted a plot arc motivated by adjusting John Connor's age to (almost exactly) Alison Young's age.

Can you make a comical of this:

future!John: "That Alison Young was almost as great a fighter as Mom. If only she were sleeping with me, she wouldn't have been caught and copied as an infiltrator. I know! I'll reprogram the infiltrator, send her back to when I was Alison's age, and then it'll be OK to sleep with her. If the infiltrator gets too damaged, she can tell me about Alison, and I can jump forward and sleep with *her*.
