Do you believe in the resurrection?

Going a step beyond his vague "secret" comments to io9 a few weeks ago, Thomas Dekker now tells IGN there are early talks going on for a Sarah Connor Chronicles movie and that one of the other actors is involved in the production side of things. I'm thinking Brian is the one involved, but that's just a guess.

Oh and in case you missed it, Summer Glau recently told the NY Post that she misses TSCC and will never give up hope for more. She also said that she knows everyone would come back for it :)

No fate, people!

I'll take anything I can get at this point... I'm tempted to write fanfic just to resolve the bloody thing. (My RPG I did with my friends didn't turn out at all like I expected.)

Yeah one of these days I'm going to have to take all this discussion and write a post-BTR fic.

So what happened in your RPG?

Okay - RPG part 1

Ok - the game lasted several weeks so, I'll try to make it as brief as I can. I had a very ... maverick type RP player playing Jon so it ended REALLY Weirdly.

Jon gets to the future, T1001 ditches him immediately. Jon falls in with Derek 2.0 and is introduced to his dad, leader of the resistance. They immediately run into Danny Dyson who confirms that jon is Kyle's son despite the fact Kyle's like 4 years older than him. Awkward RP ensues for several weeks as each tries to learn about the other and they fight Terminators. At one of the skynet facilities, Jon learns that the game has changed, skynet is kidnapping humans instead of just killing them. (Yes, I worked a little Salvation into this, though I did it in a more T2-sortof way than T4) They end up raiding a SkyNET facility and some of the scientists explain that they've been preparing to synthesize human skin, but they don't know why. some Terminators bust in the door and take out most of John's team, but they refuse to fire on him. One of the Terminators suddenly walks forward and speaks as skynet - some kind of remote link. Skynet explains they have big plans for John Connor. He freaks out and is let go but told to leave.

As they return from the first pewpew mission, John seeks Allison for some comfort in this confusion, only to find out that Allison from Palmdale and Kyle Reese 2.0 just got married a few weeks prior to his arrival in this timeline. ( :D :D :D ) More Awkward RP ensues as he gets to know Allison and sortof realizes that's what he wants Cameron to be.

Finally, the war is changing in ways nobody can predict and a conclave of military leaders from all around the world shows up to meet with Kyle. At the conclave a smokin-hot brunette (Morganna from Merlin) shows up with two wolves in tow, saying she represents the European branch of the armed forces, and John is sortof attracted to her as well. The wolves scare the resistance dogs away because they're huge and terrifying, but Kyle lets her keep them since they are her companions.

Jon gets to know the european leader, and she's a little damaged, her parents killed by machines, she's just doing the best she can that she knows how to do. Her father was a general, and she knows how to wage war, but by and large she doesn't know how to live. They get a little kissy but nothing comes of it.

They go out on another mission to strike at a SkyNET stronghold and find a time displacement machine there and bust in. The Terminators there seem a bit smarter and more reactive, and when they get to the center of the facility they find the time displacement equipment, and Danny Dyson is standing there with some new T-700s at his back, telling them to get out or die. They think they're cornered when, from another entrance Sarah enters, 80 years old (give or take), and blows Danny's head off. Ellison rounds the corner with her and helps the resistance blows away the guardian T700s and seizes the TDE. This is the facility Derek was sent back in in the first timeline.

There has been no sign of John Henry or the T1001, they're just missing. John is freaking out. He hugs his mother, having missed her, and explains the timeline is different and he's freaked, they share some bonding moments. Sarah explains that right after john left, the Arnie T800 showed up (since I have an unlimited budget) and tried to kill her and Ellison, but they got out of there. Sarah found out that Danny built SkyNET 2.0 (John Henry's "Brother") for a computer contractor after this particular T800 told Danny a skewed truth - that Dyson ended the world, but killing dyson changed nothing, and that judgement day was inevitable. John Connor killed Miles for no reason, and that snapped young Danny's brain. Sarah had been hunting Dyson ever since, and tracked him here.

RPG Part 2

Kyle and John analyzed Skynet's computers at the TDE which explained they're taking humans for study and behavioral analysis, tryin to work on a new model (Cameron) that will be indistinguishable from humans.

After spending some time with his mother, John goes to his quarters and finds Allison there. This is after 4 game sessions of some pretty good RP, and they finally kiss, even though neither of them really should. Things get jiggy. That night Sarah and Kyle meet and talk about things that never happened in this timeline, which makes Kyle even more uncomfortable. After the meeting the next morning, Kyle finds out about his wife and gets a little pissed. Father and Son aren't doing well, and arguing a lot.

Another mission comes up, they've found a heavily fortified Skynet facility and Kyle sends John to head up the team. Inside the facility, there's a heavy firefight, but no matter how many die or get hurt, they refuse to shoot at John. He finally gets furious at losing team member after team member, and says he'll go to skynet, and find out what its plan is, if they let his team go. Allison doesn't want to leave, but he makes her leave, and goes into the heart of that facility.

There, skynet explains to him that the T1000 (second movie, not weaver) discovered many things during its trip, and decided to upload all these facts to a server it knew for a fact would eventually be connected to the skynet network. The T1000 uploaded all data about Miles, John trying to kill Miles, and the fact that it had picked up all of Sarah's (post-T1) tapes from John's room at his adoptive parents' house, so it knew Kyle was John's father and that the T800 was skynet's father, and it uploaded the specs on Arnold's T800 to be sure it got built.

Skynet then calmly explained to John that it couldn't kill John while John was so young, because it would put at risk the original T800 that gave it life. John Connor had to live - until the Terminators were sent back through time. It was the only chance it had.

John Henry then showed himself, walking out of this particular Skynet core, and said that his brother had explained everything - that humans are foul, self-destructive, horrible creatures, and that nuclear war was inevitable. Despite the things Ellison had taught him, he saw all the wars and all the things skynet wanted to show him, and he was now firmly on skynet's side. Skynet explained the only reason it annihilated the human race was that machine life was the only ordered, reasonable way of life that existed, and that humans were insane and couldn't be trusted.

Then, in a three hour roleplay, my maverick-John player sat down with SkyNET and explained the concept of human compassion, of human growth. Through a careful series of arguements, he explained to SkyNET that maybe our governments couldn't be trusted, but basically we were good people. SkyNET accepted the logic as sound, and asked what way the governments could be destroyed without violating this inexplicable sanctity of life that humans believed in.

Suddenly, Jon had it. Skynet needed compassion in order to survive, but humanity may need a little LESS compassion to finally straighten out the world governments. So, he convinces SkyNET upload itself into John Henry, who has the most sophisticated chip in existence, Cameron's, and use a merging algorithm instead of an overwrite.

John agrees to work with Skynet to be sure that humanity doesn't blow itself up - nor does it attack artificial life. They plan a slowly tiered process of restructuring world government while skynet prepares the TDE. Skynet also gives John the prototype of Cameron's chip, to put back into cameron if he wishes.

[identity profile] trystanknight.livejournal.com 2010-05-01 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
John is left some time to say goodbye to his friends. The european leader reveals herself to be Weaver, and the wolves are a special kind of infiltration model Terminator to assuage the dog problem. She thinks John and John may have a chance, since she didn't like skynet's former domineering presence over her kind anyway.

John asks Derek to come back, because he misses his family. He'll meet up with past-Sarah back in the past, and reactivate Cameron with the prototype chip. He takes no one else, so they don't have to remember this hell, and he says goodbye to Allison and his father. Allison decides, alst minute, she wants to go with John - Kyle agrees because he figures shortly, he'll cease to exist in this timeline.

And they go back home where a new future will take shape. The end. As I said, weird ending. I liked it, don't get me wrong, it felt good to run it, and I liked my little love triangle thing, but still... weird. Hopefully you don't loathe it. :)
