What's my name again?
Last night, the man and I went to the Christmas train garden at the local volunteer fire department. Since it's also a fundraiser, we bought some raffle tickets. While we were filling them out, we had this exchange:
The Man: "I started to write my work number for the home phone."
Me: "That's nothing. I started to write 'Roxy' for my name."
The Man: "You're brain damaged."
I'm not sure I can argue with that. In my defense, though, I've written the name Roxy Bisquaint a lot in recent months on sticker order packages and customs paperwork.

Hell, I sometimes forget that your name isn't Roxy. And when spectralbovine was in Seattle I almost called him "Polter" to his face quite a few times. It's just how I'm used to addressing you guys, by your screen names.
(Some of the guys in my college dorm actually did call me "Narrator" long before it was my screen name so I'm used to answering to it....)

I kinda feel left out, not having met you at the cons.

Dragon*Con
After your suggestion, I looked at the site. Lots of interesting celebs and fans. At the risk of starting a Holy War, Patrick Stewart (at Dragon*Con) *was* the best captain of the Enterprise. (At least until Bruce Greenwood played Captain Pike.)
Hmmm. How to sell this to the woman...
Realistically, a Smithsonian trip is more likely.

You have more aliases than Sydney Bristow...

Pulled out the Season 2 Blu-ray again last night and watched The Good Wound. I really like some of the scenes in that one. Lena is so good. Then watched several TSCC & cast clips on YouTube as I was browsing there tonight. Miss that show. Lena & Summer were so cool.
Haven't been grabbed by anything else on TV this Fall. But I did watch Summer's episode of Dollhouse on the 4th. That was fun. Another one coming next month.
Are you still not smoking? If so, great job! It's not easy.

It might as well be!

You really can't go wrong with some TSCC, especially an episode as nicely done as that one (it's definitely one of my favorites). I miss it too. So much.
Just so you know, we haven't given up on the show. With the Terminator rights in limbo and the holidays upon us, we've just stepping back for a bit. We'll be back at it in January. Our next plan is a TV commercial which we're already doing some preliminary work on.

I watched Summer on Dollhouse too and I enjoyed that. My husband has been regular viewer of Dollhouse so I sort of watch it sometimes. It's definitely gotten better recently... just in time to be canceled.
The only new show I've picked up this season that I really like is Modern Family. I've got no new dramas, though. I'm still holding onto Fringe, I like Sanctuary and I'm looking forward to the final season of Lost. That's about it.

No smoking! Those first 6-7 weeks were quite trying, but I'm at 10 1/2 weeks and doing great. I'm still using the electronic cigarette, so I'm not nicotine free yet. I think I'm going to try tapering that down some in January and see how it goes. I'm kind of curious if it's more habit than addiction now (since the amount of nicotine I get is about half of what it used to be). I don't want to put that to the test until after the holidays, though.

Personally I still prefer SideOfCrazy. That was a cool SN.

Sidefcrazy is a pretty fun name, but I think TWoP is the only place I've ever used it. I'll have to revive it again at some point.

I myself have got 3 nicknames I'd easily respond to. Names that have been a part of me for the past 10-15 yrs.
Why? We live in a world where we have to manage alternate aliases and identities day in and day out... Those identities become a part of us. No different than a singer who's adopted a Diva name from the very start. Could you imagine it being any different for an actor or actress that has been playing the same role / character on a long standing series of 7yrs or more? ;)
Just some food for thought there.
Btw, actually signed up for a LJ account just to comment on this. ;)

Nice to see you on here, terrasj and I couldn't be happier that it was a post of mine that prompted you to sign up :)

Much like for me, TerrasJ is truncated from Terras Jadeonar, from which used to be Terras Jadeonar & Raven. Those being a full first and last name of my namesake Star Wars rpg character from 2001.
I'll try out the blogging thing again. Last time was via myspace, which had little to no reception. Have a few ideas for it. Will have to see how it goes. I usually prefer forums more as the format geared for topic discussion rather than a diary type entry. Worst case scenario, at least I can drop by and reply with a comment. (suppose theres an upcoming web page coding project i'll be working on, so here's a good excuse to grease some rusty html & css page skills) ;)
