roxybisquaint: (sarah cameron new purpose)
Yeah I did. I made some Sarah Connor Chronicles motivator posters. It's one of the few fandomy things I've never done, so I felt like I had to ;)

View all ten of them here.

I have something like 6 fan vids in various stages of progress, but for some reason, this idea called to me and I had to run with it. After a few days of obsessive editing, it's done. This isn't exactly a typical fan vid — just a creative use of clips (no music). Explaining too much could ruin the fun, so I'll leave it at that. I laughed so fucking hard while making this. I hope it'll amuse you.

Warning: This is completely unbeta'd crack (I deemed it not worthy of someone's time for beta).

Download it (42mb, 640x360 Quicktime movie)

ETA: Updated... again. I'm finally satisfied. Next time I finish a vid, someone remind me not to post it for three days so I can see the problem spots with fresh eyes before making it public! I guess that's what beta is for, eh? Heh. Lesson learned ;)

Evidence: I joined Twitter. And I totally blame [livejournal.com profile] life_on_queen for it. Anyway, I'm on there now but I promise never to export twitter nonsense to my LJ.
roxybisquaint: (sarah gun)
You know that gun I was thinking about getting? Well I didn't get it. I got the better model instead :D

Instead of the Springfield XD-9, I got the Springfield XDM-9. Still a 9mm, but nicer grip, more accurate, a little sleeker and I got a decent deal on it: $625. If I could've found the regular XD model (everyone is sold out, apparently, with no dates for getting them back in), it would've been $570. But for $55 more, I got the better model and the dealer had it in stock. The price was actually $679 (kind of steep), but I talked him down. I'm not usually good at that kind of thing, but I guess he knew I was itchy to lay down the cash and he wanted to make the sale. And it's a local dealer I bought from, so no broker fees or hassles.

I'll have it in 10-14 days, after the mountain of paperwork is processed and my background check completed. You should really see the questions on the gun ownership application. You have to answer questions like: Are you an illegal alien? Have you been declared mentally incompetent? And my favorite... Are you a fugitive? LOL

I wanted something more standard size this time since I already have the sub-compact Glock. So I got the 4.5" length. The magazine holds 16 rounds, which will be nice. Baby Glock only holds 10 rounds and my old Bersa .380 holds a measely 7. The Springfield came with 2 magazines, plus I got 3 more in an accessory kit I bought. I'll be able to pop off 80 shots before reloading. Sweet.

Oh, I almost forgot. One sad bit of news. I actually got to hold a Tommy Gun today (I've been wanting one of those ever since the TSCC episode "Self Made Man") and guess what? My arm isn't long enough to hold it properly! I have to have the stock under my arm in order to even reach the hand grip (also that thing is freaking HEAVY). My Tommy Gun dream = *poof*

My LJ muse [livejournal.com profile] cisaac is at it again — inspiring me to create. Unfortunately it's not action figures this time, it's fic. Bad fic. Really, really bad fic. But don't blame him. All he did was rattle off some things that bug him (and anyone whose IQ is above 100) about poorly written fan fiction. After reading the list, I found myself lost in the creation of the worst comment fic I could whip up (I'll freely admit it was great fun to write something so intentionally awful).

Anyway, it's now on fanfiction.net and that is actually [livejournal.com profile] cisaac's fault. He suggested I post it there just to see what kind of reviews it would get. I did and though the comments haven't been flowing in as rapidly as I might have hoped, they are certainly amusing. [livejournal.com profile] metroid13, who's in on the gag, even added a ridiculously over-the-top glowing review.

So if you care and if you dare, I present to you the worst TSCC fic you'll ever read (dear God I hope)...
John's "Brainy" Girlfreind

WARNING: This fic may contain horrendous misspellings, bad punctuation, run-on sentences, excruciatingly bad writing, an absurd necrophilia "plot" and... a punchline.

I think I'm on some kind of unofficial house cleaning strike (although it's getting more official with each passing day). Every day I look at my rugs and think "Yeah, I need to vaccuum those. I'll do that later." Later I think "I'm definitely going to vaccuum tomorrow." This cycle has been going on longer than I care to disclose. There's an empty amazon.com box sitting on the floor in the living room. "Yeah, I'm going to cut that up and stick it in the recycling basket later." I don't even remember what came in that box. Actually there's 2 empty amazon boxes now because another one came today (and yes, I do remember what came in that one). I could go on. But I won't. I'm going to spare you the details of my newfound slovenliness. Maybe I should just revel in it - enjoy my sty while I can - because eventually I know I'll give in and clean.

Maybe tomorrow.

So. Damn. Catchy. I like this version of "I'm Good, I'm Gone" way better than what's on the album. And how can you not enjoy that bathroom performance? I've decided Lykke Li is good for the soul. And since my brother recently turned me on to her, he gets props for an unprecedented second time this week.

Meanwhile, I've just uncovered a forgotten selection of music from 2002 in my iTunes library that includes Snoop Dogg (w/Pharell), Nelly, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, Sean Paul and Marc Anthony.
I have no excuse.
